MTC Week 2

April 29, 2015

This has been a great week here at the MTC! Our schedules changed last Thursday so now we do all of our studying at night. That makes it a bit difficult to focus but I am starting to adjust.

Sorella S and I have two new "investigators." Their lessons are only fifteen minutes long so it is a bit difficult to keep our lessons short but we have been doing a great job!

Sundays here are amazing!! They are not very restful, but they are very enjoyable. We have a fireside every Sunday night. This week Vai Sikahema came and talked to us. He is so energetic about missionary work! He was really fun to watch and really enthusiastic! Afterwards we go and watch a church movie. This week my district went to watch The Stone Cutter and Music in the Spoken Word.

Another wonderful thing about Sundays is that we get to go on a temple walk with our Branch Presidency and their wives. Their wives are such amazing fantastic women! I found out that one of the members in our Branch Presidency, President Whiting, is the cousin of the Whitings in our Stake.

Tuesdays we have devotional Donald Hallstrom and his wife came and spoke to us. I really liked his wife's talk. She talked on giving our hearts to the Lord.

I am starting to pick up the language. I know that I wouldn't be this far along in the language if it were not for the Lord's help. My testimony has grown so much in the past two weeks. Being here at the MTC is a great blessing!

MTC Week 1

First Week

It has been a great week! I am enjoying it here at the MTC!

My colega is Sorella S from Idaho Falls, Idaho. And my other colega is Sister H from Brigham City, Utah. Sorella S and I are the only two sisters going to Italy. Sorella S is going to Milan. Sister H is a solo sister going to Frankfurt Germany.

It is a bit like home [here], because there are way more Anziani than Sorrela. Anziano M talks more than I do!!! We have two wonderful teachers who both served in the Italy Rome Mission. Sorella P and Fratello K. We started teaching our first investigator "Emma" on Friday. It was a bit tough, luckily Sorella S took four years of Italian in High School so she can understand and infer what most people say.

I have gotten much better in Italian! On Sunday, I taught Relief Society and gave a talk in Sacrament meeting. There was a fireside on Sunday given by Elder Johnson. And a devotional last night by Elder Andersen.

I miss the food. None of the food here tastes very good so I have mostly been eating salad and soup. I have been having a bit of trouble sleeping, but it is getting better. I just wake up a lot in my sleep.

I am so happy everyone is doing well!

I love you and miss you all very much and I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers!

Much love,
Sorella Victoria Pinnegar
